August 9th
The Mohave Desert Ride
Get ready for some mountains....

Leaving Barstow, California

I couldn't help myself....

Protected from the elements...

Another dry creek bed...

Scenes along Arizona Route 66

I had only 2 1/10ths gallon of gas left when I fueled up here.  My tank took 3.3 gallons, talk about a close call.

Back to the ride....

Coming in to Williams, Arizona.  Gateway to the Grand Canyon South Rim.

This is a good destination if you've not seen it before.... I have.

Odd rock formations...

A souvenir outpost...

This place out in the middle of nowhere reminded me of a Pink Floyd album cover.  I'm betting whatever
they are making here is dangerous...

Riding back in to Indian Territory.

These guel stops are far and few between...

Riding to the Painted Desert of New Mexico.

There were miles and miles of these beautiful mountains...

Gallup, New Mexico... home of the low speed internet.
Traveled over 550 miles today.
